We are exclusively recruiting for a Staff Accountant to join a professional services organization in Sacramento. This is a full-time, onsite position offering a great opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled team. The Staff Accountant will manage a variety of accounting duties to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. Pay: $36-$40/hour DOE.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of three years of accounting experience, including expertise in general ledger, reconciliations, advanced MS Excel skills, and a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILIITES:
- Accounts Payable: Enter, Process & track payments for vendors.
- Assist with quarterly and annual reports.
- Assist with outstanding checklist at month end.
- Process outgoing sales commissions.
- Maintain credit card tracking and reconciliation.
- Process daily positive pay.
- Prepare daily general journal entries.
- Assist the accounting department with data input, data corrections and reports.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assists in quarterly and year end payroll tax filings.
- Balance and submit quarterly payroll tax forms.
- Assist in setting up client general ledgers and maintain in payroll system
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years’ experience working in an accounting position.
- High School diploma or GED is required. College degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic accounting (journal entries, reconciliations, etc.).
- Excellent, proficient knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks and 10-key.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Experience with payroll taxes (CA State and Federal; other states a plus)
- Highly organized and methodical.
- Proficient in MS Word and Outlook.
- Professional demeanor, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detailed, self-starter with strong analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn new computer software and skills related to accounting and insurance.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Genuine team player.
