Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and maintains accurate schedules required for month- end close.
  • Reconciles general ledger account discrepancies.
  • Prepares monthly closing journal entries for general ledger accounts.
  • Reviews and confirms intercompany charges with responsible departments; investigating discrepancies as needed.
  • Compiles and codes incoming check deposits.
  • Calculates and prepares yearend closing journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assists in the preparation of external audit materials for yearend financial statement audit.
  • Assists in the preparation of schedules supporting the audited financial statements.
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures relating to accounting.
  • Compiles yearend 1099 information
  • Reconciles all credit card purchases to monthly statements and supporting documentation.
  • Contract management and archives.
  • Grant management and financial reporting.
  • Sets up and maintains vendors in the accounting system.
  • Provides support to the Finance team on special projects and ad hoc reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent AND equivalent work experience (two (2) or more years of progressive accounting experience)
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of ERP accounting software
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to use independent, sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to prioritize workload effectively and efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
