Job Description
We are recruiting for a Staff Accountant for a stable agricultural company in the Woodland area. Our client offers a ton of advancement opportunities, a flat work environment with a strong leadership team that is committed to promoting from within. The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through the preparation of the company’s reports and statements. Pay: $35-$40/hour DOE.
The ideal candidate will have three years of accounting experience and a strong working knowledge of GAAP.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide current, comprehensive, accurate, and consistent financial information.
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed assets and prepare monthly journal entries.
- Prepare monthly accrual journal entries.
- Prepare monthly prepaid, debt, insurance, and other journal entries.
- Assist with financial reviews.
- Prepare payroll transaction journal entries.
- Prepare property and personal tax filings.
- Prepare sales/use tax filings.
- Assist with month-end closing processes.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Perform monthly intercompany account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related field preferred
- 3+ years of direct experience in a related position
- Expertise in Excel
- Knowledge of all aspects of United States GAAP
- Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence platforms
- Ability to work with all levels of employees in the organization
- Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize
