Senior Purchasing Coordinator (Construction)

Job Description
We are recruiting a Senior Purchasing Coordinator to join the procurement team of an expanding development company. This is a direct hire, on-site position in the Sacramento area. Our client is a long-standing company and offers a collaborative and upbeat working environment. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing contracts, negotiating pricing, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. Pay: $75,000-$80,000 DOE.
The ideal candidate will have at least five experience in construction and managing procurement/purchasing with strong technical skills in ERP systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate costs and contracts with suppliers.
- Work cross-functionally with various departments.
- Maintain purchase contracts, confidentiality agreements, and purchase/price files.
- Approve pricing for order requisitions to suppliers.
- Assist with customer quality assessments and audits.
- Analyze trends in the market.
- Maintain SAP system, RFQ issue and Quote review requirements
- Analyze cost calculation and cost drivers and use them to evaluate, develop and delivery cost reduction strategies
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and process quotations
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-4 years of related experience in purchasing/procurement from construction industry.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Experience with ERP systems; Advance in Microsoft Office suite.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize moving parts.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
