Job Description
We are recruiting a Senior Payroll Specialist to join a thriving professional services company in the Sacramento area. This is a direct hire opportunity to join a rapidly growing organization that offers a generous compensation package, great leadership team, and advancement opportunities. The Senior Payroll Specialist will report to the Payroll Manager and act as subject matter expert with ADP and payroll analysis. Salary: $60,000-$75,000 DOE.
The ideal candidate must have strong technical skills in ADP Workforce Now, multi-state payroll experience, and the ability to process payroll for up to 1500 employees.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process multi-state payroll ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations
- Review and reconcile payroll data, including but not limited to timekeeping records, wage computation, and other information necessary for payroll processing
- Calculate and process manual checks, adjustments, and corrections as needed
- Stay current on federal and state payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate processing of payroll data and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 processing and distribution
- Generate various payroll reports for management review and audit purposes
- Continuously seek process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll processing
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience processing multistate payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
- Thorough understanding of federal and state payroll regulations
- Proficient in using payroll software (ADP) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism and integrity
