Job Description
We are recruiting for a Senior Benefits Analyst to join one of Sacramento’s leading organizations. This onsite role offers some flexibility and is responsible for managing a variety of benefit plans, including health, welfare, and voluntary programs, as well as supporting retirement plans for a large employee group. Our client provides an attractive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan with employer match, generous paid time off, and additional rewards. Salary range: $95,000-$115,000, DOE.
The qualified candidate will have five years of benefits administration experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to connect with all levels of the organization. A deep understanding of health benefits and retirement plans is required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide analytic support for health benefits design, implementation, and monitoring. The scope will include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits, as well as health engagement programs.
- Act as project manager for health plan strategy development, vendor sourcing, and key integrations and initiatives.
- Support strategic vendor relationships to ensure contracted services meet company standards and achieve desired results. Partner with program management team on benefit implementations and ongoing communications.
- Work with vendor partners to stay current on their product roadmaps and regulatory developments and help position the company’s plans to take advantage of opportunities to lower costs and improve benefits and delivery platforms.
- Build presentations and dashboards to support senior executive recommendations, and perform ad hoc benefits strategy analysis, benchmarking, and reporting.
- Recommend policy and process efficiencies.
- Assist in development of the yearly budget based on trends and projections with Total Rewards and Finance partners.
- Oversee the implementation of rate tables in HRIS system and integrations with 3rd party vendors.
- Lead company-wide projects such as Open Enrollment event planning.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with a diverse group of key internal partners.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resource management, business administration or related field required.
- Demonstrated ability (5+ years) in health and insurance benefits design and/or administration, including vendor management.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail, flexibility, ability to prioritize and take initiative, and intellectual curiosity that drives independent research and analysis.
- Strong ability to interpret data, apply financial insight, recognize, and communicate trends, and develop data-driven recommendations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present to groups.
- Familiarity with HRIS benefit system modules in Oracle HCM, Workday or similar system.
- Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
- Ability to use good judgement and maintain confidentiality.
