We are recruiting for a talented Senior Accountant to join a thriving local organization dedicated to serving the Greater Sacramento community. Our client offers excellent benefits, a collaborative work environment, and exciting growth opportunities. This role will be successor to the CFO. Pay: Up to $90,000, DOE.
The qualified candidate will have strong grant accounting or billing experience; Sage is a plus.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and inputs journal entries for payroll allocations, corrections, operating costs, prepaids, amortizations, and depreciation while ensuring accurate coding and fund allocation.
- Handles balance sheet reconciliations, bank accounts, grant contract billings, grant receivables, and fixed asset schedules.
- Assists with annual audit preparation, including confirmations, reconciliations, and auditor-requested schedules, ensuring financial integrity.
- Maintains relationships with stakeholders and banking personnel, identifies inefficiencies, implements solutions, and provides excellent customer service across all departments.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and has three or more years of progressive accounting experience.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office, Sage is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to take initiative, make decisions, and serve as a role model while working effectively under pressure.
- Capable of prioritizing workload, meeting deadlines, working flexible hours, and fostering positive relationships with diverse groups and stakeholders.
