We’re seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Senior Accountant to join the growing team of a dynamic local organization dedicated to serving the Greater Sacramento community. SALARY RANGE: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually, based on experience. Including, CalPERS Pension Retirement, Comprehensive Health Benefits, Tuition Reimbursement and a Generous Paid Time Off package.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the month-end close process, including transaction research, balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entry preparation and posting, and ensuring timely completion of the close.
Ensure all transactions and methodologies comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Prepare clear and concise monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, with accompanying supporting documentation.
Prepare and input month-end journal entries into the ERP system, including expense accruals, prepaid amortization, and fixed asset depreciation.
Adhere to a month-end close checklist while continuously identifying areas for improvement, superior data sources, and strategies for timely closure.
Evaluate and establish processes that enhance the efficiency of accounting duties.
Assist with the annual audit and Year-End Close by gathering requested information and providing supporting documentation.
Support financial leaders with related duties, impromptu reporting requests, Fixed Assets and special projects as needed.
Familiarity with GASB 68 (Pension) or GASB 75 (OPEB liability contributions) expense accounting and related CalPERS compliance reporting.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of financial accounting and cost allocation.

Experience preparing internal, consolidated, and divisional financial statements
High aptitude for technology and financial systems.
BA in Accounting or Finance; MA or CPA preferred.
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
