We are recruiting a Senior Accountant to join a stable and profitable distribution organization in Lodi, CA. This position will transition into an Assistant Controller role, playing a key role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
SALARY RANGE: $85,000 to $95,000 Annually, based on experience. Including generous benefits such as 401(k) with employer match, dental and health benefits and paid time off
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions and vendor payments
- Maintain a well-organized accounting system in compliance with GAAP and internal standards
- Prepare and reconcile journal entries, general ledger accounts, and financial statements
- Oversee payroll processing, tax filings, and the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports
- Coordinate year-end audits and ensure compliance with established internal controls
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax returns, including Sales & Use Tax, IFTA, Payroll Taxes, and other regulatory filings
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle NetSuite.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative working style
