Job Description

We are recruiting a Payroll and Benefits Administrator for a fast growing company in the North Sacramento area. This position is onsite. Our client offers a competitive compensation package and generous benefits! The Payroll and Benefits Administrator will be responsible for daily HR functions to include payroll, administering pay, benefits, and leave of absence, enforcement of policies and procedures, onboarding/offboarding and other general HR tasks. Salary: $70,000-$80,000 DOE.


The ideal candidate is highly accurate in processing high-volume, bi-weekly payroll in a fast paced environment. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily tasks to include payroll, compensation, benefits, and leave.

  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Prepare Payroll data and processes bi-weekly payroll.

  • Prepare regular payroll and HR reports in Paylocity. 

  • Coordinate employee enrollments and monthly reconciliation, provide guidance and support to employees.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.

  • Support special projects as needed.

  • Ensure all HR activities are compliant with legal requirements, including reporting and record-keeping.

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, payroll, and employment law.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

  • Minimum 3+ years Payroll, Benefits, or HR Generalist experience.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Solid experience using HR software and HRIS databases.

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

  • Highly organized and efficient; ability to prioritize with good time-management skills.

  • Positive and personable demeanor.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Willing to take initiative and work independently when needed.

  • Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability.
