Job Description

We are recruiting a Payroll Manager for a renewable energy company that is rapidly growing across five states. This is a direct hire position in Sacramento and an opportunity to join an amazing company! The Payroll Manager will lead all aspects of the payroll cycle, focusing on process improvement and maintaining compliance, accuracy, and timeliness. Salary: up to $125,000 DOE.


The ideal candidate will have experience with prevailing wage reporting, multi-state payroll processing, and can implement process improvements. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll to ensure timely and accurate pay for employees, running associated payroll reports and maintaining up-to-date payroll records.
  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate
     
    processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and
     other deductions.
  • Ensure that weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll for union and non-union employees is completed accurately and timely.
  • Manage payroll set up of jobs and reporting of certified payroll for compliance.
  • Manage and be point of contact for prevailing wage audits.
  • Management of union codes for accurate processing of union bills and payment of wages and fringes to employees; review and reconciliation of union bill to GL, updates to wage rates, manage and be point of contact for union audits.
  • Manage, review, update and implement any updates to payroll processes and procedures to maintain compliance; stay abreast of changing laws, ensure training is provided as needed.
  • Successfully manage and lead payroll team, provide consistent and timely responses and feedback to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain good network and professional relationships.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field or 5+ years’ experience in a payroll related position.
  • Experience with Subcontractor compliance and certified payroll tracking & auditing, including
     but not limited to LCP Tracker Job Setup and Certified Payroll Report Processing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commonly used payroll concepts, practices, and procedures,
    including union agreements, fair labor standards, prevailing wage decisions, certified payroll
     reporting and worker's compensation accounting.
  • Knowledge of In-depth Multi State and Local tax jurisdiction as well as Federal labor
     standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees/management.
  • Excellent time management and leadership skills.
