Job Description

We are recruiting a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator for a large organization in Sacramento. This is a contract to hire opportunity! Our client offers a hybrid work schedule (3-4 days onsite) and an excellent leadership team. The payroll administrator will work closely with the HR department to maintain employee records and resolve any payroll-related issues in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Pay range: $28-$35/hour DOE.

 

The qualified candidate will have experience accurately processing payroll for a large company and strong payroll reporting. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process bi-weekly full cycle payroll for Exempt and Non-Exempt employees. 
  • Collect Timecards (approvals, audits, reporting).
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
  • Calculate and record payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings
  • Prepare, analyze, and develop payroll reports.
  • Administer and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual bonus performance plans.
  • Process manual check requests. 
  • Collaborate with HR department to update employee information and resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Manage employee vacation accrual and sick time balances.
  • Fulfill wage garnishment requirements by completing forms, documenting, and implementing withholdings.
  • Assist auditors in the annual audit process to ensure compliances.
  • Approve vendor invoices.
  • Review & Reconcile Year-end tax reporting.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or related field
  • Proficiency with payroll software/systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
