Our client, a well-established Sacramento based organization, is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail oriented payroll professional with strong accounting skills and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for full cycle payroll processing and supporting key accounting functions. This direct hire position offers a primarily remote schedule, with hybrid work after training and occasional onsite meetings. Key Responsibilities
- Process full cycle semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule in ADP Workforce Now.
- Reconcile benefit invoices to payroll records, manage benefit carriers to resolve discrepancies and payment processing.
- Support benefit open enrollment, update payroll deductions, benefit audits and compliance related compliance.
- Manage payroll taxes and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Perform W 4 and payroll reconciliation
- Prepare and post payroll related journal entries
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Assist with annual Workers Compensation audit.
- Manage employees, management, vendors and external partners with payroll and benefits administration.
- Support audits and reporting as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years accounting experience with payroll and benefits in ADP Workforce Now.
- Associates or Bachelors degree strongly desired.
- Strong understanding of Federal and CA State payroll tax regulations and reporting.
- Experience with payroll reconciliations, general ledger and journal entries in QuickBooks.
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
