Onboarding Specialist

Job Description
We are recruiting an Onboarding Specialist to provide support to the Human Resources department with a rapidly growing company in Sacramento. The Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations including high volume onboarding processing and compliance for new hires. This is a contract opportunity to assist with peak season and a great foot in the door opportunity! Pay: $25-30/hour DOE
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting human resources with high volume onboarding of new hire employees or processing of new hire compliance, strong administrative skills, and experience working in HRIS systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure candidates complete all on-boarding and clearance activities in a timely manner.
- Ensure the candidate clears requirements such as rehire eligibility, license, registration and/or certification, and state and federal compliance checks.
- Track onboarding activities and provide weekly candidate status reports.
- Enter and maintain employee changes into HRIS - ClearCompany and ADP WorkforceNow.
- Verify employment history.
- Coordinate pre-employment medical assessment.
- Provide final clearance to hiring manager, and coordinate employees' first day.
- May assist with coordinating and processing of relocation and immigration services for new hires.
- Conduct reference checks.
- Initiate, track and coordinate background checks and pre-employment drug tests.
- Assist with the on-boarding process: new hire orientation, IT requests, new hire paperwork.
- Coordinate recruiting events and activities as needed.
- Acts as a resource for new employees as they transition into their roles.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3 years in Human Resources as an Admin or Coordinator or Recruiting Coordinator experience is required.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent is required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work on multiple tasks while changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Onboarding experience required.
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to use good judgement and clear criminal background check.
- Must be able to clear criminal background check and fingerprint clearance.
