We are recruiting for a People Operations Specialist to join a highly successful organization in the greater Sacramento region. The People Operations Specialist is a key team member that will support a collaborative HR department with a seamless hiring and onboarding process, manage requisitions and compliance documentation, and elevate candidate and employee experiences.
Pay range: $30.24 – $36.29/hour (DOE). Contract to hire. Onsite 3 days a week.
The qualified candidate will have a service orientated approach and high-volume corporate onboarding experience in a mid-size to large company utilizing Sterling pre-hire screening platform.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- New Hire Onboarding & Compliance – Ensure accurate completion of paperwork, compliance with regulatory and company policies, and track online forms. Conduct audits to maintain accurate records.
- HRIS & Recruitment Management – Utilize HR systems for record-keeping, compliance reporting, and requisition tracking. Partner with HR teams to manage job postings and hiring efforts.
- Background Checks & Regulatory Adherence – Support and monitor background check processes, address adverse results, and ensure compliance with legal and organizational policies.
- Process Improvement & Workflow Optimization – Identify efficiency opportunities, implement improvements, and cross-train to support operational stability and adaptability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication – Maintain professional interactions with hiring managers, vendors, and candidates to ensure a seamless onboarding and recruitment experience.
- Data-Driven Decision Making & Reporting – Provide hiring metrics, workforce planning insights, and compliance reports to support informed business strategies.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; 2–5 years in HR coordination, onboarding, talent acquisition, or a related function.
- Communication & Engagement: Strong verbal and written skills, ensuring new hires receive information that aligns with the brand and maintains engagement.
- Technical & Organizational Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (including AI-based tools), HRIS systems, and workplace technology. Strong organizational skills for tracking hiring, compliance, and budget alignment.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to escalate concerns with thoughtful solutions, gain consensus, and pivot in real-time to meet evolving business needs.
