We are recruiting an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a sophisticated corporate Law firm that services businesses throughout California. The Paralegal will support trial preparation through exhibit and witness preparation, subpoena drafting and courtroom support. The ideal candidate will have an ABA Paralegal certificate, advance MS Excel and PowerPoint skills, and PAGA/class action experience.
Salary range: 90k – 105k DOE | Hybrid (after training period)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain internal case databases including importing and exporting documents, searching for documents, running productions, running analytics and email threading, document review and coding documents.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions by gathering and preparing documents relevant to the deponent, and organizing exhibits.
- Oversee the progress of documents through litigation, order transcripts/medical records, etc. from third party entities and fulfill requests from outside counsel and others.
- Prepare for and attend trials/arbitrations: Organize exhibits, files and all other supporting documents and materials, coordinate trial set-up and logistics, and assist attorneys in the courtroom.
- Handle all aspects of discovery: organize, review, analyze, and summarize discovery responses; respond to discovery requests; and prepare subpoenas to third parties.
- Assist with PAGA/class action timecard/wage record analysis and damages calculations using Excel templates.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of complex litigation experience is required, with a focus on general civil litigation.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved school or program is required, or bachelor’s degree with recent attorney declaration.
- Trial experience strongly preferred, including exhibit and witness preparation, subpoena drafting, and courtroom support.
- PAGA/class action experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and litigation software.
