Responsibilities: Processand file paperwork for authorizations and eligibilities for patients. Responsible for intake on NOEs (Notice of Election); processes all discharge and change notifications (NOTRs) each month prior to billing. Communicate with the Clinical Department to ensure insurances and CTIs are in order; verify insurance coverage. Bill for physician services and manage collections and any pass through payments. Maintain Medi? Cal room payment schedules. Process remittance advices from Medicare, Medi? Cal and Insurance payers; keep scanned copies of all remittance advices; follow up on any denials. Post payments to Allscripts. Research old claims, rejections and file appeals. Reconcile and resolve difference between patient billing and patient payment. Prepare ageing reports with status of claims for weekly / monthly meeting. Stay current on Medicare and State regulations for billing. Update billing rates and resource information for all payers in EMR. Maintain and update Medicare and Medi? Cal Provider and Billing manuals.Manage petty cash fund and reconcile. Scan daily check deposits.
Requirements: Medical Billing/Coding experience - 2+ years' experience. Ability to work independently. Ability to work with Microsoft Word, QuickBooks and Excel. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills. Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
