LEGAL COUNSEL OFFICER (Healthcare)
We are recruiting a Legal Counsel Officer for a healthcare group in Roseville, CA. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the organization s legal compliance program. Our client offers a competitive compensation package. This is a direct hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as an attorney or General Counsel leader with a healthcare group. Salary: $160k-$200k DOE.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain an effective, comprehensive Legal & Compliance Program.
- Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies, procedures, and practices to prevent, detect, and respond appropriately to potentially non-compliant practices.
- Consult and work collaboratively with organizations general counsel and outside counsel to address legal compliance issues.
- Respond effectively to potential violations of applicable standards and develop and oversee a uniform system for documenting and resolving them.
- Institute and maintain effective compliance communications.
- Report to management and the governing body about legal compliance initiatives, activities, and developments.
- Support legal, compliance, regulatory, transactional, contract, managed care, and other healthcare, business, operational, and employment matters.
- Support the General Counsel in the management of any disputed matters, record requests, and subpoena responses.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience as a senior attorney or general counsel leader with a medical group, managed care health plan or hospital system.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with HIPAA privacy and corporate compliance programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working for or with medical groups and other healthcare systems and managed care organizations.
