Human Resources Specialist
We have a great direct hire opportunity for a Human Resources Specialist to support the Human Resources Department of a statewide non-profit organization.   Our client embraces innovative ideas and strives for employee growth and success. Our client offers CalPERS pension retirement, covers up to 95% of the employee s cost for medical insurance, unlimited sick leave, 4 weeks PTO, and 16 paid holidays. The Human Resource Specialist will perform day to day coordination, assist with employee development and training, employee engagement programs and recruitment efforts. Ideal candidates will have a well-rounded generalist background and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  


Responsibilities:
Respond to management and employee questions relating to HR, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, and workplace policies.
Lead recruitment requisition process, identify timelines and guide hiring team.
Manage workforce planning and full-cycle recruitment process, including but not limited to job descriptions, postings, screening, interviewing, coordination, offer process, on-boarding of new employees, succession and exit planning.
Assist with coordinating and maintaining professional development and training programs.
Manage the HRIS learning management system and applicant tracking.
Coordinate employee recognition and rewards program.
Draft and execute employee surveys.
Perform additional duties as needed. 


Requirements:
Bachelor s degree preferred.
Three years of progressive experience in human resources; non-profit environment a plus. 
Two years of experience in recruitment and workforce planning preferred.
PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP preferred.
Solid knowledge of HR laws and regulations and HR practices.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Demonstrated common sense and good judgment; handle highly sensitive and confidential information with tact and in compliance with privacy requirements.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner; set priorities and meet critical time deadlines.
Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.
