Pacific Staffing is partnering with our South Sacramento based client to identify an experienced and highly capable Human Resources Manager to support a growing, fast paced organization. This role is ideal for an HR professional who excels at balancing strategic initiatives with hands on HR operations, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings strong judgment, confidentiality, and leadership to employee relations, compliance, and workforce development.
The Human Resources Manager will serve as a trusted partner to leadership and employees, overseeing recruiting, employee relations, leave administration, performance management, HR compliance, and benefits coordination while supporting a positive workplace culture and operational excellence.
- $120K per year
- 100% onsite: Working Hours 7:30am-3:30pm
Responsibilities
- Manage full cycle recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding through HRIS systems.
- Address employee concerns promptly and professionally to support a respectful workplace.
- Administer workers’ compensation claims and partner with carriers, supervisors, and employees.
- Manage leaves of absence including FMLA, CFRA, ADA accommodations, Pregnancy Disability Leave, and other federal/state programs.
- Support payroll processing and partner with payroll to ensure accurate compensation.
- Conduct workplace investigations and provide clear, well reasoned recommendations.
- Oversee performance management, goal setting, evaluations, and employee development strategies.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employees, managers, and leadership.
- Identify training needs, coordinate programs, and facilitate HR related workshops.
- Ensure compliance with California employment laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Review, update, and maintain HR policies aligned with legal requirements and best practices.
- Partner with benefits brokers to administer medical, dental, vision, and retirement programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and generate HR reports and metrics.
- Mediate employee conflicts and support engagement and culture building initiatives.
- Evaluate HR processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Stay current on HR trends and implement best practices.
- Perform additional HR duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- 7–10 years of progressive HR experience across multiple HR disciplines.
- SPHR strongly preferred; PHR, SHRM SCP, or similar certification required.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance.
- Experience in employee relations, leave administration, recruiting, and payroll support.
- Proficiency with Paylocity or similar HRIS systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize and work independently.
- Reliable attendance and ability to travel occasionally between locations.
