Job Description
We are recruiting a Human Resources Generalist to join a long-standing professional services organization in Sacramento. This is a direct hire opportunity that offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). This position will support with general human resources inquiries as well as process payroll. Salary: $60,000-$70,000 DOE
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, payroll experience in human resources (ADP preferred), and strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll in ADP for internal employees.
- Reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Track and deduct all garnishments and other payroll deductions in a timely manner.
- Assist the HR Manager with the annual performance review process, including processing approved merit wage changes to employees’ HRIS files.
- Assist with onboarding new employees.
- Support with benefits administration.
- Produce general communication and HR related documents.
- Data entry and HRIS management.
- Ensure timely HR communication and follow-up on all HR matters, internal and external questions, requests, and issues.
- Track and monitor LOAs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field required.
- 2+ years related experience in a Human Resources role.
- Experience with payroll is required. ADP is preferred.
- Experience in a professional office environment.
- Strong technical skills with HRIS and the ability to learn other operating systems quickly.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Accuracy in typing and proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Strong grammar, spelling, and the ability to proofread documents.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
