Job Description
We are recruiting a Human Resources Generalist for a highly successful company with a global presence. This is a contract to hire opportunity! Our client offers a hybrid work schedule and this position reports to a collaborative and engaged HR leadership team. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for day to day HR tasks, worker’s comp, LOA’s and administration of company policies. Pay: $35-$38/hour DOE.
The qualified candidate will have a strong generalist background and solid experience with worker’s compensation and leave of absence management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the documentation and maintenance of all HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees.
- Respond to employee complaints and advise leaders on various employment matters.
- Support recruitment and hiring efforts as needed.
- Support HR and Benefits Manager with Open Enrollment and the administration of benefits.
- Perform administrative duties, such as new hire paperwork, termination files, maintaining employee database, etc.
- Maintain LOA tracking system and manage LOA process.
- Assist with employee engagement surveys and action plans.
- Manage worker’s compensation program.
- Respond to routine inquiries from inside/outside the company on employee verifications requests for personnel records.
- Maintain personnel records in accordance with current laws and regulations.
- Prepare reports that contribute to the analysis of HR trends (e.g., retention, turnover, recruiting costs, etc.).
- Exercise discretion, diplomacy and sound judgement when dealing with sensitive personnel issues.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources role.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Capable of managing diverse personalities and projecting care and professionalism in all work-related situations.
- Competence in organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and HRIS software.
- Ability to work independently.
