Job Description

We are recruiting a Human Resources Generalist to join an international manufacturing company based in West Sacramento. The HR Generalist will support the human resources department with a variety of HR functions including leaves management, onboarding, report preparation, and HRIS database maintenance. This is a long-term contract opportunity to support a highly competent HR department. Our client is a stable company with a global presence and offers some remote flexibility after training. Pay: $30-$36/hour DOE. 


The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience supporting human resources, strong organizational skills, and HRIS system experience with ADP/Workday is preferred.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Support HR department with various HR administrative tasks as needed.
  • Assist with new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted.
  • Organize, maintain, and update employee HRIS information as needed.
  • Manage LOA.
  • Track benefit plans, including health care, retirement, Workers Comp, etc.
  • Execute all employee termination procedures, including advising employees on their rights and any benefits they are entitled to.
  • Help ensure payroll processes are correct.
  • Foster positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that surface.
  • Abide by company-enforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate employee benefit eligibility, enrollments, terminations, and payments.
  • Prepare employee census information for insurance, 401(k), and other reports.
  • Coordinate and set up training classes or meetings.
  • Assist with creation, distribution, and collection of feedback from company-wide Quarterly/Annual survey.
  • Assist with providing research for policies, training, strategic planning, and other human resource issues.
  • Assist with additional projects, as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years related experience in an HR Specialist or Generalist role.
  • Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills that improve efficiency.
  • Proactive and personable.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills with MS Office suite (MS Excel).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
