Our Sacramento-based client, a respected and people-driven organization, is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join their team. This role supports a multi-location workforce and plays a key part in strengthening employee relations, enhancing HR programs, and ensuring compliance across the organization.   • Salary: $80K-90K /year (DOE)
  • 100% onsite


Responsibilities

  • Serve as an employee relations specialist, conducting investigations and guiding managers through corrective actions.
  • Support recruitment tasks including job postings, application review, prescreens, and new-hire onboarding.
  • Maintain HRIS accuracy, employee records, and compliance with all employment laws and company policies.
  • Administer benefits, support open enrollment, resolve carrier issues, and reconcile benefit billing.
  • Manage leave programs (FMLA/CFRA, disability, paid family leave) and lead ADA interactive process and accommodations.
  • Support performance cycles, engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and HR-driven training efforts.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation, auto accident claims, and Cal/OSHA safety compliance.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with 3+ years of HR experience, or 8+ years of HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, California employment law, and HR best practices.
  • Experience in employee relations, investigations, benefits administration, leave management, and HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Intermediate MS Office proficiency, including pivot tables.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
