Job Description

We are recruiting a well-rounded Human Resources Generalist for a very reputable family services organization in Sacramento. Our client offers an employee-centric work environment and supportive team dynamic! The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for managing various aspects of human resources including payroll, safety, benefits, LOA, workers compensation, recruitment, and onboarding. Pay: $24-33/ hour DOE


The ideal candidate will have a well versed HR background and will be dynamic in their ability to switch between HR tasks as needed.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with all HR related inquiries while fostering positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Oversee payroll processes, including verifying timekeeping data, calculating variable pay, and ensuring accuracy in deductions and overtime calculations.
  • Maintain meticulous records of payroll transactions, including commission calculations, and promptly address employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and benefits.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, facilitating conflict resolution and nurturing a supportive workplace culture.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment procedures, from creating and advertising job openings to conducting interviews and facilitating new employee onboarding and orientation.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, assist with open enrollment, and maintain precise records of employee compensation and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, participating in the development and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate employee training and development initiatives to enhance skills and foster a positive work environment.
  • Assist with absence management operations, including approving workplace accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and managing various types of leave such as FMLA, CFRA, and medical leave.
  • Attend safety committee meetings and implement CalOSHA regulations to maintain compliance and promote a safe work environment.
  • Manage HR administrative tasks, including maintaining personnel files, timekeeping systems, and assisting with HR reporting and analytics.
  • Safeguard sensitive HR information and maintain employee confidentiality to protect organizational operations.
  • Collaborate with management to implement HR strategies aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Fulfill other duties as required to support the smooth functioning of the HR department and the organization as a whole.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience at the Generalist or Specialist capacity.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of CA employment laws and regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and benefit administration systems.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Superior time management capabilities with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent in prioritizing tasks and delegating effectively when necessary.
  • Commitment to acting with integrity, professionalism, and maintaining confidentiality.
