Job Description

We are recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist for an organization in Davis, CA This is a direct hire opportunity to join a company with excellent benefits and work/life balance. The HR Generalist will support the department with employee relations, benefits administration, Leaves of Absence, recruitment, worker s compensation and manage the human resources information system (HRIS). The ideal candidate will have a strong generalist background with experience in employee relations.  Salary: $60k-$70k DOE.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Hire, develop, support, and retain a skilled, motivated, and qualified workforce. 
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain ethical and collaborative employee relations. 
  • Ensure timely HR communication and follow-up on all HR matters, internal and external questions, requests, and issues. 
  • Track and monitor LOAs.
  • Collect and input employee-related data (e.G., new hire information; Health and Welfare, benefits, and employee information changes; performance-related information; status changes; compensation adjustments; etc.).
  • Identify qualified candidates through active sourcing and screening. 
  • Maintain and utilize Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for recruitment processes. 
  • Manage interview process, including coordination and distribution of candidate information.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety plans and programs.   
  • Manage Worker s Compensation claims.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive records, information, and communications. 
  • May represent organization at employment-related hearings and investigations. 
  • Manage annual Open Enrollment period(s). 


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three years experience as a Human Resources Specialist or Generalist experience, with increasing levels of responsibility required.
  • Two years experience with employee relations required. 
  • Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands and tasks.
  • Proficient in HRIS, performance management, ATS, and other HR-related software programs 
  • Strong working knowledge of State and Federal employment laws (e.G., FMLA, CFRA, ADA, ADAAA, FLSA, etc.) 
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR laws in developing and implementing programs and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with others and maintain a positive, client-oriented approach.
