Job Description
We are recruiting a Human Resources Generalist for a biotech company based in Yolo County. The HR Generalist will support the organization’s business objectives through employee engagement, performance management, talent acquisition, employee relations, and HR consulting. This is a direct hire opportunity! Our client offers 80 vacation hours upon hire, 15 paid holidays a year, a generous benefits package, and a hybrid work schedule. Pay: $30-$36/hour DOE.
The ideal candidate will have a strong generalist background with at least five years’ experience in a related human resources role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR department by providing support to the HR Business Partners and other HR functions as needed.

Participate in the development and implementation of policies and other HR initiatives in areas of employee benefits, compensation, learning and development and HR/Recruiting analytics.

Develop strong working relationships with management and staff; providing advice, guidance, and coaching as needed.

Respond to questions and requests by EDD, DFEH, and other governmental agencies.

Analyze and recommend solutions to ensure the effectiveness of HR policies, procedures, and programs; ensure fairness and consistency in the execution of HR policies and practices.

Work with HRBP to respond to and resolve employee relations issues; conduct investigations and work with management team on appropriate resolution to employee relations issues (e.g., coaching, corrective action).

Maintain absenteeism records and coordinate appropriate employee absenteeism corrective action with department managers.

Under the direction of HR Business Partner, coordinate and create offer letters and assist with the new hire onboarding experience.

Promote team cohesion through team building/bonding events and related activities.

Maintain employee records in the HRIS system.

Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; MBA preferred.

PHR Certified preferred.

Minimum 5 years progressive Human Resources experience.

Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically, conceptual, and analytically.

Strong generalist background with advanced knowledge of employee relations.

Broad knowledge of recruiting and onboarding, organizational management, training and development, and administration.

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management including current federal and states laws and regulations.

Excellent business writing skills.

Strong computer skills using MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); as well as experience with HRIS.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively and respond appropriately.
