We are recruiting for a Head of Accounting and Finance to join an organization with cutting-edge technology. In this pivotal role, you will lead the accounting function, ensuring precise financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and upholding compliance with financial regulations. Reporting directly to a dynamic CFO, you'll oversee financial management, budgeting, forecasting, taxes, investor relations, and capital management. This hybrid position is based in the Rocklin area, offering a compensation range of $165,000 to $210,000 DOE, plus equity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management & Strategy:
- Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting.
- Develop financial strategies aligned with the company's short- and long-term goals.
- Provide actionable insights to senior leadership to inform business decisions.
- Develop and maintain financial models to drive performance improvement.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting principles.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate risks, including regulatory compliance and market fluctuations.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and corporate governance standards.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
Tax Strategy & Compliance:
- Develop and execute the company’s tax strategy, ensuring efficient tax planning and compliance with local, state, and international tax laws.
- Oversee tax filings, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and other obligations.
- Minimize the company’s overall tax burden through tax-efficient structures, including transfer pricing, international tax, and tax credits.
- Work with tax advisors, legal counsel, and auditors to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on tax reforms and developments that may impact the organization and proactively recommend adjustments to corporate strategy.
- Ensure effective management of tax audits and tax dispute resolution.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee all financial reporting activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of the organization’s financial performance.
- Monitor key financial metrics and ensure the company maintains a strong financial position.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reviews, providing insights and recommendations to improve profitability and reduce costs.
Investor Relations & Capital Management:
- Lead capital fundraising efforts, including equity, debt financing, or other financial instruments.
- Manage relationships with investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders.
- Evaluate and manage the company’s capital structure, ensuring optimal capital allocation.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and implement annual budgets, managing the allocation of resources across departments.
- Monitor performance versus budget, providing variance analysis and corrective actions.
- Update financial forecasts regularly to reflect changes in the market or business operations.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in technology or SaaS industries.
- Deep understanding of financial planning, risk management, tax strategy, and compliance.
- Proven track record of leading fundraising efforts and managing investor relations.
- Expertise in financial systems, tools, and analytics.
- Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the software industry preferred.
