Job Description

We are recruiting a Divisional Controller for a large and successful distribution/manufacturing company located throughout Hawaii. This position is on-site in Oahu and reports to the Senior Director. The Divisional Controller will establish and implement financial policies, controls, perform financial risk assessments, and prepare annual budgets and forecasts. Salary: $175,000-$185,000 with $20k-$35k bonus potential stock plan.


The ideal candidate will have at least five years of strong finance leadership experience implementing internal controls and process improvement. CPA license required. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the financial reporting of all business units and its issuance to the corporate office.
  • Manage and direct the preparation of financial statements.
  • Ensure financial information is reviewed and approved in accordance with established policies.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial controls and tax return procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and liabilities.
  • Coordinate and assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor closing processes, billing, invoicing, and expenses.
  • Management of both credit and bond accounts.
  • Manage escalated customer service issues and complaints, while ensuring adherence to quality service guidelines.
  • Oversee the company's ERP processing systems to ensure transactions are posted accurately.
  • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.
  • Oversee financial and accounting staff to include Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Analyze profit center performance metrics.
  • Maintain fixed asset records.
  • Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes.
  • Ensure all corporate regulated controls are adhered to, standard documents are updated, and accessible and approval requirements are met. 
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience for a mid-size or larger Corporation.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Advanced competency in financial management and accounting software.
  • DMSi Agility & Falcon are desired.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills.  
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations.
  • Superb organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
