We are seeking a Director of Supply Chain to join a building material company in Northern California. This position will be 4 days onsite (1 day remote) in Sacramento with some travel required. The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end supply chain functions to include procurement, inventory management, distribution, and vendor management. Salary: $160,00-$180,000 DOE.
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ certified experience working in supply chain management with construction or building materials. Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to connect with individuals globally are required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy to align with organizational goals.
- Provide leadership and vision to a high-performing supply chain team, driving performance excellence.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on budget development, cost reduction strategies, and capital expenditures related to the supply chain.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure the supply chain team meets established service, cost, and quality targets.
- Lead efforts to optimize inventory management, reduce lead times, and improve demand forecasting accuracy.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring a reliable supply of materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts, manage vendor performance, and resolve issues related to delivery, cost, and quality.
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Lead the integration of advanced supply chain solutions, such as automation, AI, and IoT, into day-to-day operations.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for optimizing supply chain expenditures.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of supply chain metrics and performance.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or Supply Chain required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), or other relevant certifications are preferred.
- Demonstrated successful supply chain strategy development and execution.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain systems (TMS, WMS), tools, and technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management expertise.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to occasionally travel Internationally.
