We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Project Management to lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of enterprise-wide projects for a professional services organization located in the greater Sacramento area. As the Director of Project Management, you will be instrumental in creating a culture of project excellence, implementing standardized procedures, and fostering continuous improvement across the organization.

• Salary Range: $80 - $120 per hour. 
• Hybrid model requiring in-office presence 3 days per week and remote 2 days per week.
• 6+month Contract (with potential for hire)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, build, and lead the PMO's creation, defining its charter, structure, model, and governance.
• Create short- and long-term plans to mature the PMO in line with company growth.
• Develop and implement scalable methodologies, templates, policies, workflows, and best practices.
• Streamline project intake, prioritization, execution, reporting, and closeout processes.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and advise leadership on portfolio performance.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop project managers, fostering a high-performance culture.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's in business, management, or related field (Master's preferred); 10+ years progressive project/program management experience, including 5+ years leading a PMO or large teams. 
• Strong background in building or scaling a PMO, ideally within a mid-size or growing organization. 
• Expertise in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid models; PMP, PgMP, or related certification required. 
• Manufacturing, Technology or Healthcare PMO experience preferred.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; proficiency in project management software.
