We are currently seeking a Director of Human Resources to join a thriving nonprofit organization located in the Auburn area. Our client is renowned for its outstanding employee benefits package, which includes 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for both the employee and dependents, six weeks of paid time off (PTO), retirement plans with a 4% match, and 14 paid holidays annually. The Director of Human Resources will oversee a proficient and well-established HR department. Salary range: $160,000 to $180,000 DOE.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, along with extensive experience in performance management and benefits administration.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handles all employee relations issues, corrective counseling, and conflict resolution.
Provides leadership, motivation, and guidance to all staff members.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures company compliance.
Administration of Employee Benefits Programs; monitors the effectiveness of the current benefit plan administration and policies.
Researches and prepares information regarding insurance plans, including health, dental, life, vision, 401(k) and other benefits.
Maintains responsibility for compliance with federal laws and regulations, including those regarding workplace safety, as well as monitoring state legislation pertaining to all Human Resources matters.
Assists leadership in annual review programs, and in preparation and administration of company wage and salary programs.
Coordinates or conducts exit interviews.
Consults with legal counsel as appropriate on Human Resources matters.
Attends and participates in recognition programs and celebrations for various departments.
Recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development.
Leads the development and revision of job descriptions, as well as a uniform interviewing process for all open positions.
Works with legal counsel to prepare employment and consultant contracts and employment offer letters.
Maintains the departmental budget according to policies, including ongoing expense review, approval, and tracking, and makes periodic presentations to the Finance Committee.
Participates on committees and special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required; Master’s degree in Human Resources preferred.
Minimum of eight years of recent human resources leadership experience within a medium-to-large organization.
Human Resources certification preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in strategic planning, organizing, budgeting, directing, reviewing, and evaluating Human Resources and Benefit administration.
Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivating, and teambuilding.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information appropriately and professionally while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to successfully develop, control and monitor multiple programs’ budgets and expenditures.
Ability to work with various and diverse groups in a tactful and effective manner.
