We are recruiting for a Director of Administration & Human Resources to join a well-established professional services organization in Sacramento. This direct-hire position offers a hybrid work schedule (three days onsite, two days remote) and a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% employer-paid medical coverage for the employee and substantial retirement contributions. The Director will oversee four department managers and be responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compensation. Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 DOE.
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience in a professional services environment, along with strong expertise in human resources. A human resources certification is preferred but not required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on all HR-related matters.
- Partner with the leadership team to develop and execute the company’s human resources and talent strategy.
- Lead employee relations efforts, overseeing conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition through recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and implement recommended best practices.
- Supervise office administrative staff and oversee their day-to-day activities.
- Review and approve time sheets and manage employee time off requests.
- Process employee status changes, including leaves of absence and separations.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the HR department, establishing goals and priorities aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures to maintain compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years’ experience as a Human Resources Manager and/or Administrator in a professional services setting.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Human Resources certification preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of local, California and Federal employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
