DOT Compliance Specialist - Direct Hire
Responsibilities: Manage and maintain a company-wide compliance for all Federal and State Department of Transportation regulations. Monitor and manage regulatory developments that may potentially impact company operations, while coordinating development of compliance plans in response to such developments. Monitor the process of tracking, and maintaining driver qualification files per Federal Motor Carrier Safety. Regulations (FMCSR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for DOT drivers. Ensure departments are up to date with State and Federal DOT Regulations. Support Federal and State reporting requirements for accidents, safety related conditions and other required filings. This includes gathering, reviewing and analyzing data and working with other internal support groups to ensure all data is in compliance with the applicable regulations. Prepare and the company for audits and inspections (e.G. US DOT Compliance Reviews, State DOT Compliance Reviews, California BIT inspection).
Requirements: A minimum of three years' experience in the trucking, distribution, or logistics industry or related field. Extensive experience in Federal and State DOT regulations. Must have BIT audit experience. Bachelor Degree in Safety, Business, Management, or related field preferred. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
