Job Description
We are recruiting a Compensation Specialist for a strong missioned non-profit organization that supports families in the Sacramento region. The Compensation Specialist will provide guidance to staff on the analysis, interpretation, and application of HR rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to Compensation and Benefits.100% Onsite position. Pay: $27-$36/hour DOE.
The ideal candidate will have at least one to three years’ experience as a compensation analyst, strong technical skills, and experience with HRIS.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with industry standards and company objectives.

Conduct job evaluations and market analysis to determine appropriate salary ranges and benefits packages from various positions within the organization.

Interview and survey employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.

Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.

Gather data from market-based compensation surveys; use spreadsheets and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.

Develop and manage the annual salary review process, including coordinating with managers to ensure accurate and timely completion of salary adjustments.

Stay updated on relevant legislation, regulations, and trends related to compensation, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.

Conduct regular audits and analyses of compensation programs to assess their effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR and Finance to ensure effective communication and coordination of compensation initiatives.

Provide guidance and support to HR team members and managers regarding compensation matters.

Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for managers and employees on compensation and Human Resources policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:

One to three years of experience as a compensation analyst required.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience required.

Minimum five years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process is highly preferred.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-CSP preferred.

Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Strong knowledge of human resources laws, regulations, and best practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong knowledge of HR related Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing compensation including Wage and Hour law.

Ability to navigate, gather, and perform tasks associated with benchmarking.

Strong organizational and project administration skills.
