Job Description

A busy healthcare organization is seeking to hire a Claims Clerk to support their corporate office in Sacramento. This is a temporary to hire opportunity with a progressive organization who specializes in connecting people with support resources and access to healthcare. The Claims Clerk is responsible for clerical duties to support the claims department.

Responsibilities: Receives, sorts and organizes claim forms. Arranges and prepares claims documents for scanning. Re-scans misaligned, shifted, and poor image quality documents as needed. Upload EDI files from Legacy FTP site into the portal. Runs failed claims report and corrects errors as needed. Upload electronic claims submitted by providers. Meet quality and quantity level of standards as indicated by supervisor. Keep daily records of claims scanned; provide reports to supervisor. Maintains a filing system for claim forms according to the unit's filing system. Prepare and mail out claims denial letters. Check member eligibility. Record and process take backs and refunds. Answer and route phone calls. Data entry.
