Our client a growing organization located in West Sacramento is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support general accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager and play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. Initial responsibilities will include accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and general ledger support. The scope of the role may evolve to include additional responsibilities such as cost accounting and inventory-related analysis. - Salary: $77,000-$82,000 plus bonus
- 100% on site.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage vendor billing and payment processes in ERP system, including PO matching, weekly check runs, ACH/wire payments, and document retention.
- Process incoming payments via check, ACH, wire, and Lockbox; post to customer accounts; follow up on remittance details; and maintain invoice records.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and maintain subsidiary ledgers in compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Analyze financial statements and general ledger activity to identify discrepancies, support audits, and provide insights to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate positive pay verification, submit payment templates, approve transactions, and ensure adherence to financial regulations and confidentiality standards.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2–5 years of experience, ideally in a construction, manufacturing, or real estate environment.
- Ability to work independently but collaborate as necessary with corporate team.
- Proficient with MS Excel skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with large ERP systems
