Assistant Controller – Direct Hire - Hybrid
We are recruiting for an Assistant Controller for a growing organization with an excellent company culture. This position is hybrid in Roseville and our client offers a competitive salary, benefits, bonus, and flexible schedule. The Assistant Controller will be a trusted support to the CFO and supervise the accounting team. This role is responsible for providing guidance around the application of accounting policies, financial reporting, and the implementation of US GAAP and internal controls. This role will also work closely with external auditors and legal counsel to timely resolve complex accounting issues. Salary: $140,000/yr.-$160,000/yr. DOE.
The ideal candidate will be able to produce month-end closing reports for a multi-entity company and help with quarter end and audits.

Primary Responsibilities:

Process monthly corporate close and prepare consolidated corporate financial statements

Provide all needed information and reports to external CPA firm for annual corporate audit

Supervise, train, and develop the accounting team members.

Review supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts.

Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including review of accounting entries.

Ensure period end close processes are completed on time.

Research and provide timely responses to financial reporting inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Resolve issues and/or concerns as they arise on a proactive basis.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements for reporting purposes.

Coordinate and oversee annual audit performed by external auditors.

Stay current on changes in regulations.

Manage outsourced functions, as needed.

Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:

Five years of progressive, relevant experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

CPA license is required.

Real Estate experience is required. (Experience with development, construction, and/or multi-family operations is preferred)

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Excellent critical thinking as well as analytical skills.

Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Experience in a fast-growth environment and scaling people and processes.

Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting systems.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
