Pacific Staffing is partnering with our Sacramento based client to identify an Accounting Specialist to support the Financial Services Department, which manages the accounting operations for the organization and its affiliated companies and foundations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a solid understanding of accounting processes and cycles, including reconciliations and journal entries. The Accounting Specialist will focus on general accounting functions, daily transaction processing, and departmental support, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and smooth financial operations. This position also provides coverage for other team members as needed, contributing to a collaborative and efficient finance environment.
- Pay: $26.00 to $29.00/Hour. (DOE)
- Role Type: Contract for a 4-month period.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Analyze daily cash balances and prepare bank transfers.
- Process and reconcile weekly membership dues.
- Apply payments in the accounting system.
- Receive, organize, and distribute incoming mail and checks.
- Prepare and batch checks and payments for deposit.
- Monitor and prepare bank feed transactions.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Calculate sales tax liabilities and prepare supporting documentation.
- Maintain records of outstanding checks and monitor items for resolution.
- File work products and assist with additional accounting tasks as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting procedures.
- Experience with NetSuite preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows OS.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
