Our client, a dynamic and growth-oriented organization headquartered in Sacramento with multi-state operations, is seeking a detail-driven and proactive Accounting Assistant to support their finance team. This Direct Hire, 100% onsite role offers a competitive hourly wage of $28–$32, DOE.
The qualified candidate should have strong accounts receivable and billing experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accounts Receivable Support: Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders, prepare payments, apply customer payments, generate statements, and follow up on invoice status.
- Data Entry & Transaction Processing: Post journal entries, code expenses, and update vendor or customer contact data with accuracy and oversight.
- Reconciliations & Month-End Support: Assist with bank and vendor reconciliations, match documentation, ensure timely posting of transactions, and help with accrual tracking.
- Reporting & Documentation: Generate routine financial reports, export data for analysis, and maintain organized electronic or paper audit trails.
- Communication & Recordkeeping: Liaise with vendors and customers for missing details, provide documentation support, and ensure proper filing and organization of all accounting records.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred. At least 2-3 years’ experience in accounting support, including accounts receivable and billing.
- Skilled in data entry and Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational abilities, and clear communication.
- Demonstrates integrity, initiative, and curiosity.
