Pacific Staffing is partnering with our Sacramento based client to identify an Accounting Analyst to support their Finance Department during a critical period. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong billing and accounts receivable experience, particularly in non profit or grant-funded environments. The Accounting Analyst will work closely with the Finance Director to ensure accurate invoicing, timely receivables management, and organized financial documentation—helping maintain compliance, support funder relationships, and strengthen financial operations. This hybrid role offers meaningful work supporting an organization dedicated to addressing homelessness through collaboration, data-driven solutions, and community impact.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly billing, invoices, claim forms, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain an up-to-date billing tracker and monitor submission status, approvals, and follow-up needs.
- Review billing information for accuracy; research and resolve discrepancies or rejected claims.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and customer balances.
- Post and apply payments; reconcile AR balances and investigate variances.
- Prepare aging reports and support collection activities.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Provide documentation for audits and ensure adherence to accounting policies.
- Identify unusual transactions and communicate issues promptly.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure confidentiality.
- Support general accounting tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with emphasis on billing and AR.
- Experience in nonprofit, government-funded, or grant-funded environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a hybrid environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with funders and internal teams.
