Transfer Center Coordinator - Direct Hire
Responsibilities: Answer emergency and non-emergency transport telephone lines. Coordinate all requests for transfer and transport promptly and courteously while demonstrating a high degree of customer service. Gather pertinent information to process patient transfer requests and arrange transportation. Track and monitor location and status of ground and air ambulances in relation to patient transfer requests. Develop high degree of familiarity with client service area geography and medical facilities. Prioritize tasks, adhere to deadlines, and provide status updates on assigned projects. Communicate professionally and effectively with: Transport Vendors, Administrators, Hospitals, Physicians, and Transfer Centers. Complete all documentation with appropriate notes and times. Obtain patient demographic information and insurance documentation.
Requirements:Minimum 1 year experience in a health care environment; prefer 1 year customer service and EMS or Hospital clinical experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Two-year degree in related field preferred. Current or previously held EMT certification, Medical Assistant, case manager or equivalent education/experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and Electronic Medical Records required. Typing - Minimum 35/WPM. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision. Ability to work as an integral part of a cohesive, fast paced & productive team. Critical listening skills and excellent verbal/written communication. Problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Able to maintain professionalism andeffectiveness in high stress situations.
