We are recruiting for a Senior Technical Buyer to join the Procurement Team of a stable technology company in the Greater Sacramento area. The ideal candidate has the ability to interact across internal departments, correspond with vendors and suppliers to ensure that the company's supply chain meets production and customer needs. The Senior Technical Buyer will also establish accounts with existing and new vendors and handle high volume of purchasing requests.

Responsibilities: Solicit bid pricing from current and potential new suppliers that would be qualified through the company's new supplier qualification process. Evaluates competitive pricing through quoting and continual supplier evaluation. Negotiate with supplier as needed to provide the company with the lowest overall cost. Perform all required item data updating in the ERP/MRP system. Monitor and report on lead times and stay in constant communication with vendors. Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers. Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand. Negotiate Commercial Terms. Timely execution of Engineering Purchase Requisitions (EPR's). Analyzes production requirements generated by the MRP system and place orders accordingly. Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in pricing. Balance sheet reconciliations.

Requirements: 7+ years of work experience in purchasing covering full cycle supplier management, full cycle part lifecycle management and tactical order placement and management. Five or more years as a user expert with an ERP/MRP system (Oracle, SAP, QAD, Visibility, other). BA/BSin business administration or related field of study preferred. APICS and/or CPIM certification desired. A high level of practical understanding of Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management. Strong analytical and communication skills. Working familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles to align supply chain performance. Solid time management and ability to prioritize.
