The Senior Director of Total Rewards will set the strategic direction and provides management oversight of the Health & Welfare benefits functions. This includes the overall design and implementation of new and revised Health & Welfare benefits programs. Focuses on assessing the impact of current programs and proposing new programs to support the achievement of strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience managing/supporting Wellness/Benefits programs for a large organization (at least 15, 000 employees). This is a direct hire opportunity to join a premier healthcare organization in Sacramento.

Responsibilities: Serves in a content expert capacity to customize the Health & Welfare policies and programs. Participates in the design, build and communication of Health & Welfare benefit programs, policies, processes, and practices that deliver the long term strategy and offerings that support business goals. Manages employee benefit plans for the organization, ensuring governmental compliance. Assessment of Benefit plan differentials in M&A including identification of risk and business issues.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin/ HR. Master's Degree Preferred. 10-15 years in Human Resources field. Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) Designation required. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and administer human resources programs. Healthcare system experience is helpful, particularly in a highly matrixed environment. Knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, disability and long term care and other non-pension related benefits is required. Working knowledge of insurance contracting is required. Working knowledge of hospital/health care operations and industry strongly preferred. Strong skills to effectively lead change and transition. Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
