Our client is a thriving technology focused company in Sacramento that is in the process of switching from Waterfall to Agile and needs a strong Scrum Master to take lead of this transition. The Scrum Master will be responsible for conducting and managing processes of an agile development team. This role will work very closely with Project Managers and Stakeholders establishing and enforcing agile team priorities and release delivery deadlines as well as facilitate releases. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity with a growing company.

Responsibilities: Evaluate the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coach team to higher levels of development. Provide guidance Guide on how to utilize Agile/Scrum practices and values to meet deadlinesand produce efficient deliverable for customers. Develop the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks. Organize and facilitate agile rituals including: release planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, planning, demos and other related meetings. Track and communicate metrics including team velocity and sprint/release progress. Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master. Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I). Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency. Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.). Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP and Kanban. Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
