Responsibilities: Process orders received frombranch locations, sales representatives, and customers, including taking the orders, sourcing materials, processingthe orders, preparing paperwork for pickup or delivery, and completing any applicable paperwork. Coordinate transfers of product between branches, including contacting trucking companies to coordinate shipments, as well as instructing drivers on requirements of the loads as needed to facilitate product movement. Manage inventory tracking. Operate truck scale, completion of weight tags, bills of lading and hazardous materials shipping documents. Respond to customer inquiries and requests for orders in a timely manner. Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal team members. Assists with electronic order entry and processing (sales orders, shipping documents, invoicing) utilizing the (ERP) software. Provide assistance to other purchasing assistants or receptionist as needed or in their absence.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred. 2+ years' prior experience in a purchasing role. Ability toapply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical applications. Experience using an ERP system required. Proficient Microsoft Office skills. Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills (verbal and written). Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Proactive and able to independently prioritize and meet deadlines.
