Ophthalmology Front Office Coordinator
Responsibilities: Assist patients with general inquiries; check in/register new patients. Verify and update patient demographics. Insurance eligibility verification. Provide office support by maintaining documents, files, and policies or procedures. Compose and/or transcribe letters and other documents as needed. Screen calls, take messages as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Minimum 1 year working experience in a front office setting. High school degree or equivalent required. Excellent customer service and problem solving abilities. Working knowledge of health insurance benefits. Primarily California Healthcare insurances - Commercial/Private, HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medi-cal, Medicaid. Proficient in MS Office suite. Medical terminology a plus. Experience using EPIC EMR is a plus. Ability to use good judgement and must be able to clear a criminal background check.
