Responsibilities: Taking patient history. Performing eye-related clinical tasks. Completing visual acuity testing, field of vision testing, fundus photos, and refraction. Entering patient information and preliminary care history, reason for visit in electronic medical record. Assisting the MD with minor procedures. Instruct patients about medications, tests, and procedures. Collaborate with staff and Ophthalmologist. Providing excellent customer service and communication in patient care.
Requirements: At least 2 years of health care experience (back office, medical assisting setting.) Knowledge of ophthalmology/optometry. Demonstratedlongevity in prior roles. ABO Certification (not required but a plus.) Ability to use good judgement and pass on boarding requirements (drug/background screening).
