Medical Billing Representative
Responsibilities: Handle assigned billed accounts and related credit work for all patients while maintaining a goal of no more than 20% accounts more than 60 days old inassigned accounts receivables. Process all new day claims within 2 business days. Maintain and work assigned Collection Queue: phone calls, letters, re-billings, appeals. Review EOB's / vouchers for incorrect payments and/or denials. Research and appeal all claim underpayment issues for assigned accounts. Process all correspondencepertaining to assigned accounts. Contact by telephone or by letters the responsible parties and/or insurance companies regarding overdue accounts or other credit problems and suggesting the next course of actions. Respond toinsurance requests for additional information in order to process claim for payments. Turns over private pay accounts to the Collections Representative for further collection procedures.
Requirements: Familiarity with various insurance carrier agreements, and compliance with all State and Federal billing guidelines. Ability to understand oral and written instructions as well as communicate clearly. Organization of Accounts, Time management and problem solving skills. Ability to multi-task. Respect for the confidentiality of thepatient's account and medical history.
