Responsibilities: Post all payments and/or denials to patient accounts both manually and electronically. Review all payments and adjustments to ensure accuracy. Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies. Update and correct errors in patient accounts. Process patient an insurance refund requests in a timely manner. Follow up on submitted claims, monitor unpaid claims, and resubmit as needed. Answer questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companies.
Requirements: One year payment posting and billing experience. Maintains good work habits, attendance, accountability, and punctuality. Data entry and accounting knowledge. Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills with great attention to detail. Understanding and compliance of HIPAA regulations. Ability to pass on boarding requirements and use good judgment (drug/background screening).
